Retinal (chemical name: all-trans retinal) is an active derivative of vitamin A, with a molecular formula of C₂₀H₂₈O, and is directly involved in skin cell metabolism and collagen synthesis. As an intermediate in the conversion of retinol to retinoic acid, it is more potent and gentler than traditional retinol. It is widely used in anti-aging skin care products (such as essences, eye creams) and acne treatment, significantly improving fine lines, enlarged pores and photoaging.

Function
