Fullerene is a cage-like nanostructure molecule composed of carbon atoms, the most common types of which are C₆₀ (footballene composed of 60 carbon atoms) and C₇₀. It is synthesized by arc method or chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and has super antioxidant properties (the ability to scavenge free radicals is 172 times that of vitamin C) and stability. It is widely used in high-end skin care products (anti-aging, anti-photodamage), biomedicine (drug carriers) and electronic materials.
