Product Description

7-dehydrocholesterol (7-DHC) is an animal sterol with the chemical formula C₂₇H₄₄O, a molecular weight of 384.64, and a CAS number of 434-16-2. It occurs naturally in the lipids of animal skin and is a direct precursor of cholesterol and vitamin D3. At room temperature, it is a white to light yellow crystalline powder, slightly soluble in organic solvents, and prone to oxidation, so it should be stored away from light.
