Vincamine is a major alkaloid in Vinca minor, and belongs to the quebracho alkaloids in monoterpene indole alkaloids. Its chemical name is (3α, 14β, 16α)-14,15-dihydro-14-hydroxyvincaine-14-carboxylic acid methyl ester, white powder, soluble in acidic solution. In 1953, Schlittle and Furlenmeier isolated vincaamine from V. memor. In 1968, Trojanek, Blaha and others determined the spatial configuration of vincamine. The structure of naturally extracted vincamine is dextrorotatory, and the synthetic vincamine is racemic.
Molecular weight: 354.44, density approximately 1.29 g/cm ³, melting point 232 ° C (decomposition). Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in chloroform and DMSO. Stability: Keep away from light, store at -20 ° C, avoid high temperatures and strong acid/alkaline environments |
