What is Tropicamide ?
Tropicamide is a white crystalline powder. Odourless. Soluble in ethanol or chloro form, slightly soluble in water.The absorbance was measured at 254nm and the absorption coefficients (E1% 1cm) ranged from 167 to 177. It can be used for dilated pupil examination and optometry, etc. It can also be used for prevention and treatment of juvenile pseudomyopia.

Application of Tropicamide 

1.Indicated to induce mydriasis (dilation of the pupil) and cycloplegia (paralysis of the ciliary muscle of the eye) in diagnostic procedures, such as measurement of refractive errors and examination of the fundus of the eye.

 2. Ophthalmic anticholinergic. Mydriatic.
