Oregano extract powder is a natural plant ingredient extracted from the leaves or whole herb of the Lamiaceae plant Origanum vulgare. The main active substances are carvacrol and thymol, and it also contains flavonoids, triterpenes and phenolic acid compounds. The extract is usually prepared by supercritical CO2extraction or ethanol extraction. It has a light brown to dark brown powder appearance, has the unique spicy aroma of oregano, and is moderately water-soluble. Oregano is commonly used in traditional medicine for antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. |
