Geniposidic acid is an iridoid glucoside, are widely present in plant tissues, such as Eucommia ulmoides, Gardenia jasminoides Ellis,et al. Geniposidic acid can be prepared from Eucommia leaf by solvent extraction, silica gel column chromatography, also be prepared from geniposide by hydrolysis saponification. Modern pharmacological experiments show that geniposidic acid is the main effective components of Eucommia ulmoides. Geniposidic acid has anti-inflammatory and other functions, it can be used to lower blood pressure in clinical, pain, sedation and so on. Geniposidic acid can be  also used as health food additives.
